I've seen a few threads on the new 124200 OP34 vs the 114200 OP34 but everybody talks about the movement and the easylink and how it fits better. Even Hodinkee said the cases are the same but they're NOT at all. I pulled out some calipers and did some measuring when my wife's 124200 finally came in.
These hands seem high quality, no visible scratches/defects, and the lume matches almost perfect - but not authentic Rolex. I'm keeping a look out for a genuine, white-gold hand-set - I believe the minute hand would be a bit thinner which would look better. Recently, however, I realized that they did make quite an improvement, by replacing the hour and minute hands with larger ones. Hey all, long time lurker, new time poster. Love all the time, information and knowledge shared on the forum, so thank you! Tl:DR: I'd like your opinion on upgrading the hand-set on my Air King. Full-tesx: I've owned my ~2007 Rolex 114200 Air King for the last couple months. I live in Arizona.
I've tried it on my 7in wrist and would be absolutely fine with the size, though I've come to prefer smaller watches. That generation of OP has a similar presence to a five-digit 36mm DJ/Explorer, or the new 36mm OP/Explorer (and the lighter the dial, the larger it wears).
